JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION:                    SENIOR SERVICES AIDE

LOCATION:                    GU ACHI DISTRICT OFFICE

                                        SANTA ROSA, AZ.

HOURLY PAY:               $13.01 (Full Time with Benefits)

CLOSING DATE:            Monday, September 16, 2019; 5:00pm

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Gu Achi District Chairperson and/or Vice Chairperson, and the Senior Services Coordinator the incumbent will help plan/organize activities, cook meals, maintain the cleanliness of the senior services building and district buildings. Will help assist/transport elders with congregate meals and trips.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·      Assists the in planning, organizing, and administering the activities of the senior services program. 

·      Cook meals for the Gu Achi District sponsored congregate meals.

·      Assist at the Gu Achi District Center during all congregate meals.

·      Assists in transporting seniors to congregate meals, events, & trips.

·      Assist seniors on and off vehicles, if needed, and escort to and from vehicles.

·      Cleans & maintains the Gu Achi District Senior Services building to ensure that all areas are up to inspection code.

·      Cleans & maintains other district buildings.

·      Assist in developing and establishing the Senior Services Program goals and objectives.

·  Utilizes a computer desktop to assist in developing monthly activity calendar, logs/worksheets and travel arrangements necessary for trips.  

·      Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

·  Must have the ability to exercise independent judgement and work with minimal supervision. 

·  Must be computer literate and familiar using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

·    Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

·    Must have some knowledge in health & nutrition.

·      Must have knowledge of Tohono O’odham culture, customs, and traditions.

·      Must have some knowledge of coordinating events, meetings, and workshops.

·      Be willing to work after normal working hours when necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·      High School Diploma or GED certificate, including specialized training or certificates related to the position.

·      Must successfully pass a background investigation upon hire.

·      Bilingual (English/ O’odham preferred)

·      Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license (no DUIs or major traffic citations within the last three years).

·      Must meet the Tohono O’odham Nation tribal employer’s insurance requirement to receive a driver’s permit.

·      Must submit a 39-month driving record with the employment application.  

·      Current Indian Health Services Food Handler’s Card copy must be submitted or ability to obtain within the first three (3) months of employment.

·      Current CPR/First Aid certificate or card copy must be submitted or ability to obtain within the first three (3) months of employment.

·      Must complete a (6) month probationary period. 

PHYSICAL, SENSORY AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use sensory skills daily to talk, hear, and handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to (25) pounds. Must be able and willing to operate a passenger van on dirt roads, highways, city streets and freeways.

POSITION:               PROJECT SUPERVISOR

LOCATION:            Gu Achi District Office, Santa Rosa, AZ.

HOURLY PAY:        $22.00 (FULL TIME plus Benefits)

CLOSING DATE:    Monday, September 16, 2019; 5:00pm

JOB SUMMARY:

Coordinates and monitors district projects to ensure completion as scheduled. Conduct onsite visits and coordinate with construction crew and operations personnel continuously. Maintains a healthy and safe work environment by enforcing procedures, standards and complying with legal regulations. Establish and manage relations with independent contractors, vendors and negotiates best possible rates for their services. In charge of monitoring and regulating task performance of employees involved in projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Manage day-to-day projects and provides support to the development and completion of projects.

          · Assists in establishing bidding criteria and requests for proposals for District projects and contract reviews.

          · Assist with planning and facilitation of meetings and provides documentation for projects.

          · Coordinates project activities to ensure that it progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget; identifies potential delays and develops mitigation strategies.

          · Assist the District Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and the Treasurer with financial project recommendation on cost.

          · Prepares and submits reports required to improve the project goals and objectives and ensures timelines are met.

          · Conducts evaluation and assessment of project components according to established policies, regulations and procedures.     

          · Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Knowledge of the Tohono O’odham culture, customs and traditions.

    · Knowledge of the economic, educational, health and social problems within the Tohono O’odham Nation. 

          · Knowledge of applicable federal, state, tribal laws, regulations and requirements.

          · Knowledge of codes, ordinance and statues governing contracting, BIA compliance, NEPA for design, ADA and construction to Tohono O’odham Building Code. 

          · Knowledge of principles and project management practices and procedures, supervision, leadership, performance evaluations and training.

          · Skill in supervising, training and evaluating assigned staff.

          · Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions and implementing recommendation.

          · Skill in providing superior customer service to external and internal customers. 

          · Ability to monitor project status schedule.

          · Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.

          · Ability to work independently and meet strict timelines.

          · Ability to work extended hours and various work schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

          · Ability to write reports and maintain files.

          · Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationship with other employees and the general public.      

          · Ability to maintain privileged confidential information.
